Direct answer

Is AI suitable for every workflow?

No. Suitability depends on value, repeatability, information quality, risk, integration support and the consequences of error. Productivity Edge starts by identifying where AI could help, where people must remain in control and where a conventional process may be the better answer.

These answers describe the current consultancy approach. Any implementation detail is confirmed for the systems and scope you approve.

01What is practical AI consulting?

Practical AI consulting starts with a business problem, workflow or opportunity rather than a piece of software. Productivity Edge helps you clarify the need, assess options, decide where human judgement belongs and plan a workable next step.

02How do we know whether our business is ready for AI?

Readiness depends on the process, information, people and systems involved. An opportunity assessment looks at recurring work, customer impact, data quality, risk, integration needs and the team’s ability to adopt a changed way of working.

03What happens in an AI opportunity assessment?

We map selected workflows, identify friction and repetition, test the value and feasibility of possible uses, and prioritise options. The result is a practical direction for what to explore, what to leave alone and what needs more evidence.

04What kinds of work can be automated?

Good candidates often include structured hand-offs, routine enquiries, form or email triage, reminders, document preparation and moving approved information between systems. Suitability is assessed case by case; not every process should be automated.

05Can you integrate AI with our existing systems?

Integration may be possible through an existing API, approved connector or a carefully designed workflow. Productivity Edge first checks what your systems support, what data is involved and what controls are required before recommending an approach.

06Can Productivity Edge implement the automation as well as advise us?

Yes. Work can include design, implementation, integration, testing, documentation and team handover where the proposed solution is suitable. The exact scope is agreed after discovery; unsupported integrations are not promised.

07How do you keep people in control?

Human oversight is designed around consequence and uncertainty. People can approve sensitive actions, review exceptions, handle complex conversations and change the rules. AI should support judgement, not quietly replace it.

08Is the goal to replace staff?

No. The focus is useful capacity, more consistent handling and less avoidable friction. Roles and decisions that require judgement, relationships, accountability or empathy remain with people.

09How do you approach privacy?

We minimise the information collected, define why it is needed, limit what the system may do and document the services involved. Privacy and security requirements are considered before implementation, with specialist advice sought where a regulated or high-risk use needs it.

10Will our confidential information be used to train public AI models?

That depends on the chosen service and configuration. Productivity Edge does not make a blanket promise across all providers. Data handling, retention and model-training settings are reviewed as part of solution selection and must be confirmed for the tools you approve.

11How is pricing worked out?

Pricing is scoped to the problem, complexity, integrations, implementation work, training and ongoing support required. The first step is a discovery call; no fixed prices or guaranteed savings are published on this site.

12How long does implementation take?

Timing depends on scope, system access, data quality, stakeholder availability, testing and risk. A small proof of concept may be quicker than a cross-system workflow, but a timeframe is only proposed after the work is understood.

13What can an AI receptionist do?

An approved receptionist can answer common questions, collect contact details, help qualify an enquiry, check approved availability and support booking. Its knowledge, actions and escalation boundaries are configured for the business.

14Will the AI receptionist sound robotic?

Modern voice systems can hold a natural conversation, but quality depends on the voice, prompt, knowledge, connection and testing. The live Lucy demonstration lets you judge the experience directly.

15Can an AI receptionist handle simultaneous enquiries?

Voice platforms may support concurrent web or phone conversations, subject to the selected service and account configuration. Required call volumes and escalation paths are confirmed during solution design.

16Can we keep our existing phone number?

Often a business can route calls from an existing number, use a new number or apply the receptionist only in selected situations. The available setup depends on the phone provider and approved call flow.

17Can it handle after-hours enquiries?

It can be configured for selected hours or scenarios, but the business must approve the information it gives, the actions it may take and how urgent matters reach a person.

18What happens if Lucy cannot answer?

Lucy should say when information is not approved or when a person needs to help. She can collect the minimum useful details and direct the enquiry to Doug rather than inventing an answer.

19Can Lucy book, find, cancel or reschedule a discovery call?

Yes, through the approved Cal.com tools. She confirms the caller’s email, checks current availability, identifies the exact booking and asks for explicit confirmation before any consequential action.

20What is a Talking Website?

A Talking Website adds a voice receptionist to the website so a visitor can ask questions and, where configured, take an approved next step. Desktop uses the hosted voice widget; mobile uses a direct voice connection designed for reliable microphone cleanup and repeat calls.

21What staff training do you provide?

Productivity Edge provides bespoke AI staff training, practical workshops and tailored team sessions based on the organisation’s tools, workflows, risks and capability goals. Training scope is agreed for each team.

22What is an AI proficiency workshop?

It is a practical session that builds shared understanding of useful AI, limitations, responsible use, prompting and review. Examples and exercises are tailored to the team rather than delivered as a generic technology lecture.

23Do participants need technical experience?

No technical background is assumed unless the agreed workshop is for a technical audience. Sessions use plain language and practical business examples, with enough structure for people to apply what they learn.

24Can we start with one small use case?

Yes. A bounded use case can make assumptions, risks and adoption needs easier to test. Starting small is useful when it creates real evidence rather than becoming an isolated experiment with no owner or next step.
